Bloody Marys – How do you take yours? Dirty or Spicy?
When you have a houseful of guests staying overnight and you’ve had a wild night talking, eating, dancing and perhaps a little drinking there is nothing better than the sobering thought of a late brunch. In the hope that a carb-loading brunch will revive and heal you here is the ultimate “cure” of a Bloody Mary.
Depending on how hard you partied the night before then I leave it with you to decide which version you choose: Dirty or Spicy. Or go for both safe in the knowledge that tomorrow is another day.
Check out my latest YouTube video on how to make the Bloody Mary of your choice.

We didn’t do Bloody Marys this year and now I’m gutted. I’m definitely ‘dirty’ but without the Tabasco and I’ve never tried it with pickle juice either! A stick of celery is a must for me though. Also Virgin Marys were the closest thing to a proper drink when I was pregnant!
Glad you went for the Dirty. Spicy seems to be popular. I keep adding the pickle brine to everything! Family keep giving me that sideways look and saying – you haven’t added that pickle brine have you? Moi? x
I’ve not had a Bloody Mary in years and it’s about high time I tried one again. I suspect I’d like it a lot more now. Great tip to add some pickle brine. Wishing you a very Happy. Healthy and Fulfilling 2017.
I made them on New Year’s morning a couple of years ago. I didn’t actually taste one before handing it to my Brother in Law – definitely went overboard with the tabasco, woke him up though! 😀 Happy 2017!
I LOVE Bloody Mary’s both DIRTY or SPICY or even both together! What a great New Year recipe, and a VERY Happy New Year to you and yours too! Karen xxx
Hey Elinor (great name…), I’ve come to say hi as I saw your link on the Brighton Bloggers FB thread. I love it! It’s refreshing and unique and I’d love to write a post on your little beach one day. Bloody Mary’s a great excuse to drink in January too – seeing as it’s kind of healthy…. Looking forward to meeting you soon.
I have never made it! Love your video! It seems easy and it must be delicious!
Yes Alida they are and you can make these in jugs so you can provide plenty for your guests!
I also saw you on the Jamie Oliver show the other evening! What a great job! You looked great.
It has to be spicy for me 🙂
