The Good Life Experience Festival – The Start of Something New
- Last weekend we headed inland to The Good Life Experience, North Wales to a brand new one-day festival set up by Pedlars founders Charlie & Caroline Gladstone and singer and broadcaster Cerys Matthews.
Set in the grounds of the Hawarden Estate this was a full on day experiencing great music, campfire cooking, archery, axe throwing and other great outdoors stuff including camping!
The whole festival had a feel of greatd warmth and friendliness, like a private party but way better than you could ever put on yourself. You get me?
I loved watching the campfire-cooking demo of The OutdoorKitchen and got stuck in helping out fillet mackerel for all to try. This is known territory for me as we cook fish a lot on the beach but their tripod system was fab and I’m so getting one to cook outside during the winter when our beach hut has to be stored away until the spring.
Our eldest teen couldn’t join us, which is a real shame, as he would have excelled at the archery and axe throwing. Our youngest was a star at the latter and my husband was gifted at the archery so when the zombie apocalypse comes, I think we’ve got it covered. I on the other hand will stick to the catering side of things. An army needs to eat, right?
I do so hope The Good Life Experience becomes a regular feature in the festival calendar as we had a blast. We laughed non-stop, listened to great new music acts, chatted all day. When we got home, we were tired, happy; smelling deliciously of campfires but most off all as if we’d experienced something Really Good.
Big thanks to Jess at IGersUK for the tickets.
