Blogging Event Must Haves

This is what I take to blogging events.  Well, I say that but some of these I don’t always take.

Camera – not always needed if your phone has a decent camera

Business cards – these days sharing your Twitter, Instagram name instantly is enough.  Do make sure all your social media platforms are linked to your website though.

However, my absolute must haves are:

My wallet with contactless cards – no need for Oyster or travel cards

My iPhone – maps, taxi booking, social media, camera and event tickets are at the touch of an app

Battery charger pack – phone batteries take a hit with the ever increasing need to engage with social media or travel apps so charger packs are vital.  If you have a pack that can take two devices at the same time, this can be a great way to make instant friends with other attendees.

A foldaway bag – most events give you a goodie bag or promotional goods which can be heavy to carry.  I go for across the body type bags so my hands are free to take photos or update my social media sites.

Lipstick and glasses – these events are shared massively on social media by most attendees so you can never be too prepared. The need for reading glasses may not be necessary for some but if you are short sighted squinting isn’t a great look!

And lastly, take layers sometimes venues can have fierce air conditioning units.  Comfy shoes – these events are not for heel wearing whether it be standing for long periods or having to rush from one workshop to another.

A SMILE – this will always work for you.
