Never a Dull Day – Lavender Vodka and Orange Cocktail
It’s official – I’m going freelance! After 7 years running a company with my husband, we are closing up our cosmetic packaging company. He’s been given an amazing opportunity with another company and I’m going to go-for it and do Beach Hut Cook more! We’ve had a huge giggle working together and not seeing him sitting opposite me in our office being all serious and businesslike will be a tough one. I shall miss him. I like him.
When we set up our company, we decided that our office motto would be Never A Dull Day after previous work environments were particularly stressy. We’ve been super lucky that we could work down at our beach hut when most people were hauled up in stuffy offices. And 99.9% of the time we’ve never had a dull day so it was a big decision to change things but if we both didn’t take up these opportunities now, would be regret them in years to come? Now that would be so very Dull.
Have I already said that I will miss him?
So prepare for more cocktails, more beach cooking and mega fun because I intend to do this thing and LOVE EVERY MINUTE of it!
Never a Dull Day (serves 1)
50ml lavender vodka
30ml orange juice
50ml soda water
Crushed Ice
Orange slices
Fresh lavender flowers (optional)
To make Lavender Vodka simply add 3 lavender sprigs with flowers on, place in 350ml vodka bottle and leave for 5-7 days. Remove lavender and strain so it doesn’t become overpowering. Pour back in bottle.
Mix the 50ml lavender vodka, juice and soda water together in a large glass or jug. In a separate glass add crushed ice and pour over mixed cocktail. Top with orange slices and lavender flower if you like.
